In the world of entertainment, people use celebrities to endorse themselves. Some of these are true endorsements, some are not. You can write to most celebrities, ask for an autographed photo and they will send it (sometimes with a personalized message) at your request. For the average person, this is no big deal, but what happens when someone uses this to make money by bringing up their status with bogus endorsements? It does happen, another hypnotist I knew told me how it was done, I presume he did it due to the large numbers of celebrity endorsements he uses. So without further adieu… here are some JayDee Hypnotist celebrity endorsements, pictures NOT included.

As usual, these endorments can only make my career skyrocket!

  Recently, I had the opportunity to perform in South Dakota. I flew into Rapid City, a nice place of about 64,000 people. I had time before my show so I decided to drive down to see Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument. Unfortuneatley, I forgot to bring American money and you cannot get into Mt. Rushmore without cash or debit(I don’t do debit either). This turned out to be a very lucky break. The time I would of spent at Mt. Rushmore would of taken away much time to see the Crazy Horse monument. The Crazy Horse monument accepts credit cards for entrance and the $10.00 was well worth it. The incomplete monument is spectacular. The interpretive centre was large and as equally impressive. If you are ever in the area, go see it! I hope I live to see it’s completion, it will be breathtaking, Korczak Ziolkowsi’s vision is for all to enjoy and admire.

Last evening I attended a performance of Monty Python’s Spamalot. I was an excellent show full of old and new laughs. It loosely follows the story of The Quest for the Holy Grail with a few plot twists and some very unexpects laughs and a different ending. The acting was great, the sets were amazing! The crowd reaction was much like mine, alot of laughter and applause and if you were like me you were applauding with coconuts! Go see it and enjoy, it will bring back any lost appreciation for the humour of Monty Python!

The best part of my job, being an entertainer, is the constant travel. I get to see many places and things most people don’t. I was up in Dease Lake, BC, which is in northern British Columbia. The mountains and forests were spectacular. The lake surfaces shimmer in the sunlight, if I only had time to fish:(  Just before I got to Smithers, BC I had to stop for a mother moose and her two calves. She did not take kindly to me rolling down my window and shooting her and her offspring with my camera :)  On my way from Prince Albert, SK to Melfort, I drove thru the most amazing thunderstorm I have ever witnessed. The lightning lit up all the sky for a few seconds, then it went back to pitch darkness. This happened numerous times and the crash of thunder was very loud. No photo’s though, the camera would of got rusty in the torrent of rain but it cleaned all the bugs off of my SUV. I enjoyed these moments and more. I hope to have more in the coming months. Drive safe!

Recently there is a new TV advertisment for a “Crispy Crunch” candy bar involving a man trying to hypnotize you, … “whenever you hear a car horn honk, you will experience a irresistable craving for a Crispy Crunch and when he claps his hands you will remember nothing”. Is this the way hypnosis works? In some ways yes, if you allow this suggestive commercials message to be implanted in your head, then it will do the job of making you “Remember Crispy Cruch Forever” In any form of advertising there is the “hook”, the thing that makes you remember the product usually via a slogan. “Where’s the beef?”, “I am Canadian”, “I wish I was an Oscar Mayer Wiener”..ect  We are bombarded by many “hypnotic” messages every day from many different sources, we have the choice of whether we ignore them or we let them in our minds. We usually get one of these messages in our heads when our guard is down, they can be difficult to get out. My suggestion, turn off the items that give you these messages. Radio, TV, internet, we can’t completely avoid these but we can limit our exposure, don’t leave a radio and TV on as a droning background noise, actively listen or shut it off. I do not watch TV, I do not have even the basic 3 or 4 channels and when I do watch it when I am on the road, I am amazed at all the advertisments telling me what I should have or how I should look. There is not button or dial on the TV to turn up the intelligence on it. Learn to rediscover the joy of reading and the sound of your own thoughts.

I am constantly in my vehical traveling from show to show. It is very enjoyable, seeing many towns and sights that many people never get to see. My constant companion on the road is the radio. I listen to various radio shows, a big favorite of mine is the old radio programs from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Last week coming home from a show I tuned into a religious program. Some are very dry and boring, others have lively speakers. This one certain program had a message that really hit home and I want to share it. Call it Chicken Soup for Society. The message is from a gent Dr. Tony Evans. His message was this………..  “We are too busy trying to buy happiness. I don’t care how much money you have, you can’t buy it! But God is willing to give it away for free.”

A very powerful sentiment to be heeded by all.

I recently ran across a large hypnosis group who advertised on thier website, someone as being a stage hypnotist for 27 years. Unfortuneatley, this person has only been a stage hypnotist for 12 or 13 years. I found this to be a great exaggeration and I contacted the person who endorsed the page, a well know teacher of hypnosis. He said that “Hypnotists exaggerate thier history and achievements” I thought that the condoning of false statements is unethical. It goes against this organization’s code of ethics.  This person teaches a stage hypnosis course and teaches a chapter on ethics, very ironic? Why do people have to lie about thier history and achievements? Do they want to feel more important than they really are? Are they afraid people will not deal with them unless they are “super” qualified? Are they out to satisfy thier own petty ego’s? I am against anyone lying about what they have done proffessionally whether it be of how many years experience they have or that they purchased a “Ph D” online. Would you be happy if you found out the person operating on you had only half the experience that they said they did?  I thought about not speaking up on this matter but, evil is allowed to flourish when good men do nothing. The neat thing about this is that even though I found out it is “okay” to lie, the web page that had these claims has been taken down.  Be confident in your achievements no matter how big or small and celebrate them, their yours. Don’t take the liars way out, if you don’t stand up to them, then why should anyone tell the truth?

I recently had the pleasure of performing in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. Being a big city boy going to a town of about 800 people was a neat adventure. I stuck out like a sore thumb, I chose to go for a jog around town not long after I arrived. I had tourist written all over me I stayed at a B&B that was a former funeral home. It was a nice place to stay and I only found out about its past on my last day. It was dead quiet there The town has a large statue of a Canada Goose and yes…I visited the goose, see below, I am the one in the funny shirt. I performed two shows andthe people were very friendly. I found it odd to hear cows moo in the distance, I have lived in the city too long. Cheers to Quill Lake for your hospitality and enthusiasm.

I recently had to remember a list of names. The easiest way I found to do this was to think up a word or words associated with numbers on a list such as 1) Judy 2) Phil etc. For the first one I think of “1st of July” that will make me remember “1) Judy” For the next one, I think of “too fill” to help me remember 2) Phil. Hey, whatever works for you or me in this case.

I started to think about this process; that to remember a list of ten names I’d have to go and memorize about 20 or so other words. In total, to learn 10 names, I have to memorize 20 words?? This does not seem like a very efficient method but it works all the time. If we look at how a hypnotherapist helps people via hypnosis it is very easy to understand this system and how it works.

To help a client deal with a problem, it may be necessary to go back in time with them to the point where the problem began. This updates the mind, so that when the particular trigger situation is relayed to a present day memory it follows the new information, not the old. Following the chain of events backwards to the start, then moving forward and straightening out the crooked chain, is easy… when you start at the place where the chain is first bent. Putting the client on the right path early in their mind will help straighten out their current and future path.

The key, is the chain of events and so it would seem that our ability (or at least mine) to memorize things goes much in the same way. Start at an anchor point with something we easily remember and going down the chain, it will trigger what we have a tough time remembering. The old logic has us forgetting the list, the new logic helps us to remember.

This is the system we are blessed with, so lets use it to it’s full potential.

On April 11, I was scheduled to perform my Hypno-Fun show at the RCMP Hall in Glendon, AB. For those of you who don’t know anything about Glendon, they have the worlds largest pyrogy near the centre of town. What is a pyrogy?….they are dough pockets filled with potato, or potato and cheddar cheese or kapusta (sauerkraut), or cottage cheese, or blueberries, or cherries, etc… and are very very yummy!! The fundraiser I was performing at was expecting up to 250 people to show up. Unfortunately only about 70 people attended. I was doing a promo film shoot and had serious doubts with such a small crowd that I would get any good footage. The people of Glendon were an energetic and enthusiastic audience. I had no problem getting volunteers for my show and the crowd had no trouble laughing and applauding the participants. The show turned out great! Thanks Glendon!
