What is there to do in Red Deer, Alberta?
When I visit Red Deer, Alberta, I have noticed that there are so many outdoorsy things to see and do. Kerry Wood Nature Centre allows you to walk around the lake that is so peaceful and beautiful. See some beavers, squirrels and gorgeous birds while you hike around. Bower Ponds has many things to experience, in the winter and you can go ice skating or come by for a games night. In the summer you can paddle boat or possibly see a play and make sure you take a walk around the ponds. One last place I will mention is the Three Mile Bend Recreation Area, it has great scenery for dog walkers and hikers. I love museums and there are a couple nice ones in Red Deer, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum has information and fun interactive sports to do from football, baseball, soccer, hockey, golf and rock climbing.
More to see and do...
The Sunnybrook Farm Museum is a farm for children to ride a train or see old farming equipment. This is the place and its free admission. After all those museums, you may be hungry and there are great choices here, I enjoy Old Mexico Taco Buffet(cheap but good eats), Boulevard Restaurant & Lounge, To The Lost Cocktail Lounge and the RED BOAR Smokery. Check out the many other great food choices in Red Deer as well, I can only try so many. For entertainment go experience Westerner Days in mid July, they have rides, food and big name entertainment. One day they will have to book in JayDee Hypnotist and his comedy stage hypnosis show for a night of laughs for the whole family. If you are a hockey fan, like me, go and see the Rebels play at the ENMAX Centrium, lots of excitement for a reasonable price.
Comedy Stage Hypnosis Clip
JayDee Hypnotist and his comedy stage hypnosis show entertained at an after grad show. This clip shows the dirty words stunt, where the participants think that the name of the place that the show was held is a filthy word not be spoken. As the word is used many are offended but a few think it is very funny. Watch their varied reactions and see that the audience is fully entertained at the responses and they add to the reactions by saying the word.
